Time to have a chat with yourself, again!

November's energy will put focus on communication and connection with all things.

You've heard the saying, "Honesty is the best policy" and in this month, and with this month's energy your honesty will save you! No matter what trust issues may come up between yourself and friends, family and work mates, if you are honest things will work out. You will succeed without thinking about it too much.

Everyone seems to be trying hard to get things done right in the midst of frantic energies! But, how can you achieve what you need to when there is so much frantic crazy energy about!.. It may be a good thing during this time not to try and simply let things be. What will be will be and it will actually sort itself out.

It's that time of year again, and simply put, it's time to shop, buy and spend for Christmas! However, why not keep more of your money saved up and spend more time shopping for a bargain. Look around, avoid buying the first thing you see.

There might be little troubles with your health this month, certainly nothing too problematic but don't push yourself too hard and certainly taking additional vitamins will be helpful.

Be mindful of your weak areas and reduce stress. If you can practice meditation or get a relaxing massage, do things which will make you relax and be peaceful.

Dust off the crystals, cleanse and re-energize them! It's a great time to go over any old spiritual practices or rituals.

Light a candle for yourself and say a little prayer. Be greatful for the good in your life.

Understanding Psychic Attacks & How To Heal Them PART 2

Psychic attacks (no matter where they come from) can cause physical problems as well, as emotional and mental problems. If you are a sensitive person you may not appreciate a deliberate and pushy individual. If this is the case with someone you work with, it's easy enough to change positions however, if this is the case of where by a parent is deliberate and pushy (even if it seems they do it with your best interest in mind) it may be harder to avoid. Over prolonged periods of time, (10 years +) you are at serious risk of developing illness relating to the nervous system (both emotional and physical, or a combination). Irritable bowel syndrome is the most common. problem, also anxiety and depression, stomach aches, low self esteem and so on.

Naturally, balance is what is most important and for many of the attackers, balance is usually off kilter and many of them are extreme, even if this is displayed in smaller measures, for instance, he always seems fine but when you bring money up, he gets uptight.

Emotional psychic attacks bring so much sadness often relationship ties and bonds become severed for good. People don't usually appreciate being made to feel unworthy especially if their own integrity is good.

If you are not able to deal with your own issue/s it's easy for you to feel jealous of others who can deal with their own, or who have worked on themselves. Perhaps that is what is standing in between you and your own ability to deal with your own issue/s - your desire to do so.

You may have given up the fight many years ago and when you see this young person taking charge of things it bothers you but, it doesn't have to because when you realise that you are just as wonderful as they are, and just as capable as they are the rewards are immense. Step out of your comfort zone and pick up the battle and win the war! Give stagnating thoughts the kick, you don't need them!

There are many personality types and each one brings different gifts into our world. However not everyone will get along and that's ok. There are good reasons for this. In addition, life is fine with this but what is not ok, is when you set out to hurt someone intentionally (or not) and if you are inclined to sit with grumpy thoughts about someone else then it's time for you to seek the help of a counselor who will be able to assist you in working through your issue in a loving caring environment.

Often you'll hear others speak of karma and what it does. The unfortunate truth here is, karma is what you believe it is. If you believe it can be bad and will come back to you then that is what is going to happen.

Karma is not quite this simple though, but with the law of attraction and a strong belief in what I just wrote regards karma, it's unfortunately possible so do your homework and find out what karma really is and how that effects you in your life. It is unkind and unwise to send someone bad energy (psychic attacks) because most of the time the victim will go unscathed but you will foster exactly what it is that you are sending out and intending upon that person whether you realise it or not, so in turn you end up hurting yourself. In the case where the victim is affected you will be responsible for their discomfort.

Karma's position where psychic attacks are concerned is a tedious process, one where you are given infinite opportunities to make positive changes. With the help of divine intervention (higher self, Guardians, Spirit, God, etc) most individuals have realisations about what they are doing to themselves (and others) and make positive changes, learn important life lessons, heal and move on in wonderful ways! It is also possible to use your will and determination, and achieve the same results!

There is a freedom to being a more loving, compassionate and understanding person and God knows, the world needs you! There is nothing wonderful about wanting to hurt yourself or someone else. Through pain we can only learn how to reduce that pain. If you are constantly inducing pain then you aren't doing yourself much good. You are so much more than that and I hope you will come to see that! I can say this and I haven't met you, this is because we are all important and it doesn't matter how we come to realise this, so long as we do.

Never mind the threats you read and hear about the world (or nature) trying to weed itself of all negativity and danger. If you sent someone bad energy today your house won't burn down to a heap tomorrow but, take notice of the things which aren't working well for you in your life. There is a strong possibility it is because of your dark secret. Begin to realise how it hinders you.

In addition 98% of the time psychic attacks are by someone in your surrounding that you already know, even friends and family members, although it's not always intentional. Some people believe in a god and a devil, be wary because often their belief of the afterlife is dangerous and outdated. If God wanted us to send people to hell to be tortured by a devil, he wouldn't have sent us here and according to the bible many of us would have bypassed earth entirely and went straight to hell!

Psychic attacks sent to you with the intention to harm you or your family are usually coming from someone with a belief in black magic, witchcraft and spell casting (not always) who has a firm belief that by wishing/sending you ill-will that you will meet with ill-fate and so on. Relax, as this is just their belief. If you understand this is true then their evil magic (psychic attack) is lessened, or even void. The more you know what you are dealing with the better the protection you can give to yourself and your loved ones. Individuals who are further along can offer protection to a greater number of people.

Sunburn

Sunburn is caused by exposure to the sun's rays. Fair skinned people are most susceptible to sunburns, as their skin lacks the pigment melanin. Melanin is a substance which makes the skin appear darker and provides protection to the skin. The sun's ultraviolet rays are most powerful between 10 a.m and 3 p.m when the sun is highest in the sky.

Depending on the depth and severity of sunburned skin, burns are characterized as first, second and third degree. First degree burns affect the surface layer. Second degree burns are deeper and cause released fluid creating blisters. Third degree burns are most serious because they are the deepest kind, the nerves may be affected, causing a decreased pain sensation even though the burn may be severe.

One of the dangers of a sunburn is that burn may not appear until a few hours to many hours after sun exposure. Cooling the skin immediately after a sunburn helps to prevent further damage. It is important to seek emergency medical treatment for any second or third degree sunburn that presents swelling or blistering, especially were blisters open. Fever, nausea and chills. If the burn interferes with breathing and, or the person is under the age of two or over 50 years.

Homeopathic medicine can also benefit the prevention and healing processes, Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera, Lavender Oil, Spanish Fly, Vitamin E Oil are just a few. You can find these in most heath food stores or visit your Naturopath. Vitamin A, B, C and Vitamin E can all help prevent and assist in healing sunburn. Your body needs to have an adequate store of these in your body. Mineral Zinc, Bioflavanoids and Essential Fatty Acids (black current oil, flax seed oil, evening primrose oil) also assist in sunburn.

Topical treatments can be used for first degree burns where the skin is pink to red, there is tenderness or pain in the area, the wound is dry and there is slight swelling. Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. Cover up with clothes and a hat. If you have fair skin, stay out of the sun during high UV times (10 a.m and 3 p.m). It is very important to use a sunscreen with SPF 15. Cool showers, baths or compresses can be used to soothe the skin and prevent worsening of the burn.

Brother John entered the 'Monastery of Silence' and the Abbott said, "Brother, this is a silent monastery, you are welcome here as long as you like, but you may not speak until I direct you to do so."

Brother John lived in the monastery for a full year before the Abbott said to him:

"Brother John, you have been here a year now, you may speak two words." Brother John said, "Hard Bed."

"I'm sorry to hear that," the Abbott said. "We will get you a better bed."

The next year, Brother John was called by the Abbott. "You may say another two words Brother John."

"Cold Food." said Brother John, and the Abbott assured him that the food would be better in the future.

On his third anniversary at the monastery, the Abbott again called Brother John into his office. "Two words you may say today."

"I quit." said Brother John.

"It is probably best." said the Abbott. "All you have done since you got here is complain."

Energy Reading for October

It's all about You this month!

It's all about love and what love is. Relationships can really benefit from the current energy. It's a nice time for weddings (and rather an auspicious time for getting married too), weekend getaways and romantic dinner for two! Meeting someone new, falling in love or getting to know someone new (special) is all possible this month.

If there has been an issue/s in a relationship, it's a good time to work it out. Seek the help of a professional, talk to someone you trust, don't be afraid to be willing to release the situation to God.

It's a good time to buy stocks/shares but not a good time for long-term investors! I know, I can imagine you saying, "Yeah, what else is new?" On the downside (and given October's energy), it's possible you'll make a significant loss which won't please you. What can you learn from this experience?

Buying a home isn't favorable at this time and you're better off waiting. If you have a hobby you enjoy, it's a great time to turn that hobby into money. It can be profitable!

Borrowing money isn't wise but, given October's energies, either, borrowing or lending is fine, surprisingly! If you borrow any money, make sure that you can return it and vice versa. Aim to keep your finances (and financial flow) steady. Things are about to get better for those who can afford to wait!

Take extra rest breaks this month. It's a good time to learn more about health, nutrition and your well being. It's time to build up on good foods and improve health. Stay positive and stay connected to the Universe.

There's a mysterious energy peeking in at the moment. A pleasant unexpected opportunity may come, take care and make the right decision for yourself but, have fun! Be aware (as always), there may be a passage way in. It may also become the "unwanted" task of trying to go back!! Take time out to think on it and remain honest about how you feel, try not to ignore the truth.

This month it's about you. Important questions to ask, "Am I happy with things as they are?" "Am I trying enough, or too much?" "What would make me happy?" The best advice for this month is be honest, be as honest as you can possibly be!

Understanding Psychic Attacks & How To Heal Them PART 1

In this article I hope to introduce psychic attacks (low level negative energies) which manifest through such emotions (and thoughts) as anger, fear, hurt, jealousy, envy, hate and so on. The basic understanding is that everything (including ourselves) is made up of an energy, and that energy is part of the Universe. Both negative and positive energies are born through us and affects our environment (everything surrounds), and being an energy it can travel far distance.

A life lived simply, deeply and passionately is most harmonious, meaningful and purposeful. Evolution continues to move forward toward more things positive and productive and it begins and ends with us. Our world is part of a beautiful Universe that surrounds us, and if we take away the fear, greed and the anger imagine what life would be like. Part of the evolution process requires we head toward this direction and who knows, one day life will be beautiful!

Unfortunately we are still living amongst plenty of fear, hatred, greed, anger and confusion. We, still, wish harm to each other while disregarding the blessings that exist around us, to us and for us, in our world. Clearly we still need work, healing and clearing.

A significant factor is that of negative energy (psychic attack) which unfortunately touches everything and anything. Thankfully, the best thing you can do is leave it physically. For instance, if you are around violence, abuse, ( as well as feeling controlled) then the best thing you can do for yourself is to physically remove yourself. However, there is a chance you can continue to suffer if you see (have contact) with the person/s, so it is vital to leave the situation entirely. This may sound hasty but it's not and it is the best thing you can do for yourself. As separation causes anxiety (in these types of situations) it is highly recommended you seek support and assistance.

We all know that energy is energy and it knows no boundaries (just like love), it can weave in, out, around and through anything! When energy is loving, positive, prosperous and kind, it's amazing but when it is of the opposite, it's devastating and even if it's not dark and simply "annoying", it still contains enough power to bring burden and hard times to you, emotionally, mentally and physically.

Most common provoking psychic attacks (negative thinking) are not the ones you can deliberately come up with (although these are damaging), they are the ones which come from worrying and controlling mind sets, for instance, parents who view the world as structural (school, work, marriage, mortgage, children, etc) and aren't flexible in the way these things may happen in their child's life, and have a strong need to encourage (force) their child to adhere accordingly.

Sadly, these parents love their children so much they "have to" have the "best". It's a hard one to achieve because while they try so hard, life isn't structured and moves fluidly. This type of thinking often has retarded effects on children and offers them little hope in that they "can" do things differently and when we look at the bigger picture, the Universe needs you to understand, "yes, you can!"

As with most worrying and controlling thinking, things become stagnant while the rest of life moves on. If you know someone like this, when you are around them or within your dealings with them they may indeed come across and being fidgity and pry on your personal space, (wanting to do things with you constantly) and you get the feeling they just don't have a life! On the other hand they may also be (or a combination) someone who exaggerates. Making mountains out of mold hills – believing in their own way to do doings things full stop! You may feel lethargic, tired, bored or even irritated when you are around them.

Other problem thinking which entice psychic attacks are those which come from being emotionally unbalanced or unwell. These are not as damaging but can drain your energy and in severe circumstances cause depression, anxiety and low self-esteem, and before I continue, you need to understand that by staying in these situations that you are at risk of becoming what the attacker's issue/s are! It's that easy, because for "certain" kinds of emotional energy to have an effect on you means, there is a hint of the same (or a similar) issue present. Much like a chain reaction. If you are a sensitive person you may prefer a private lifestyle where you can pick and choose your desired company, etc. Sensitive people are at most risk when it comes to these types of attacks.

The closer you are to someone who is negative (controlling, worrying, stagnant, emotionally unbalanced, etc), the more you will feel (become affected) unhappy. If you are finding yourself getting angry around the person then it's possible their negative energy is interfering with you. You may also feel angry for several hours, days, weeks and in severe cases, even months after dealing with them.

Back Pain

The health of your back is affected mainly by how you carry and use your body, but also by diet, digestion and the way you cope with stress. Back pain affects most people at some time in their lives. It has been said, it is a leading cause of disability in Australia and New Zealand. Many natural therapies can be used to provide relief from back pain, even when orthodox therapies fail to help. Did you know? Strong abdominal muscles are essential to maintaining a healthy back and protecting your back from injury.

Back pain may be a slight problem lasting a few days or a serious long lasting disability. Pain can result from any weakness in the back from injury. Carrying heavy objects, exercising without due care, using poor lifting technique, twisting or turning awkwardly – all these can cause damage. Bad posture, lack of exercise, sitting in one position for long periods, pregnancy and being overweight make back pain more likely and may worsen existing pain. Stress is also a major cause of back pain. Less commonly, backache results from a condition unrelated to the back, such as urinary-tract infection.

Your spine contains 33 firmly linked vertebrae. The first 24 are seperatedby natural shock absorbers consisting of cartilage discs filled with gel. The spine is held together by ligaments (thick bands of fibrous tissue), muscles and the facet joints of each vertebra. Pain can be caused by any part of the complex structure of the back and often back pain results from a combination of factors.

The most important way to prevent back pain is to maintain your back's strength and flexibility with daily exercise. It is also essential to avoid excessive or awkward movements that can cause stress and strain. Gentle massage of the muscles on either side of the spine can often ease pain. Also, you can try The Supine Twist, it can ease back stiffness. (Stop if it causes pain.) Lay on your back. Place your left foot on your right knee, and lower your left knee to the right, twisting from the waist. Rest your right hand on your left thigh. Raise your left arm upwards to the left, palm up, and look towards it. Relax the position for a minute and then repeat on the other side.

When working at a computer for any length of time, be sure that your knees are bent at a 90 degree angle and that you lower back is well supported by a correctly adjusted chair. You would be able to look at the screen without tilting your head. Prolonged bed rest is no longer recommended for back pain. Instead, get up and about as soon as possible and, after checking with your doctor, begin to do a few minutes of gentle exercise each day. Build up a regular exercise routine to strengthen your back and abdominal muscles and to increase your flexibility.

"Moses!"

"Sorry, sir."

"Well, go ahead, Moses. Spit it out!"

"Well, I have a question, Sir. You know those ten things you sent me?"

"You mean the Commandments, Moses?"

"That's it. I was wondering if they were important."

"What do you mean 'were important, Moses? Of course, they are important. Otherwise I wouldn't have sent them to you."

"Well, sorry, but I lost them. I could say the dog ate them, but of course you would see right through that."

"What do you mean 'you lost them! Are you trying to tell me you didn't save them, Moses?"

"No, sir. I forgot."

"You should always save, Moses."

"Yeah, I know. You told me that before. I was going to, but I forgot. I did send them to some people before I lost them though."

"And did you hear back from any of them?"

"You already know I did."

"What about the one guy who said he never uses 'shalt not'. Can he change the words a little bit?"

"Yes, Moses. As long as he doesn't change the meaning."

"And what about the guy who thought your stance was a little harsh and recommended calling them the Ten Suggestions, or letting people pick one or two to try for a while?"

"Moses, I'll act like I didn't hear that."

"I think that means, 'no'. Well, what about the guy who said I was scamming him?"

"I think that is spamming, Moses."

"Oh, yeah. I e-mailed him back and told him I don't even eat that stuff, and I have no idea how you can send it to someone through a computer."

"And what he did say?"

"You know what he said. He used Your name in vain. You don't think he might have sent me one of those plagues, and that's the reason I lost those ten things, do you?"

"They're called viruses, Moses."

"Whatever! This computer stuff is just too much for me. Can we just go back to those stone tablets? It was hard on my back taking them out and reading them each day, but I never lost them."

"We'll do it the new way, Moses."

"I was afraid you would say that, sir."

"Moses, what did I tell you to do if you messed up?"

"You told me to hold up this rat and stretch it out toward the computer."

"It's a mouse, Moses. Mouse! Mouse! And did you do that?"

"No, I decided to try the technical support first. After all, who knows more about this stuff than you, and I really like your hours. By the way, sir, did Noah have two of these mice on the ark?"

"No, Moses."

"One other thing. Why didn't you name them frogs instead of mice, because didn't you tell me the thing they sit on is a pad?"

"I didn't name them, Moses. Man did, and you can call yours a frog if you want to."

"Oh, that explains it. Kind of like Adam, huh, sir? I bet some woman told him to call it a mouse. After all, wasn't it a woman who named one of the computers Apple?"

"Say good night, Moses."

"Wait a minute, sir. I am stretching out the mouse, and it seems to be working. Yes, a couple of the ten things have come back."

"Which ones are they, Moses?"

"Let's see. 'Thou shalt not steal from any grave an image and 'Thou shalt not uncover thy neighbor's wife.'

"Turn the computer off, Moses. I'm sending you another set of stone tablets. How does 'Same Day Air' sound?"

If you find yourself having the need to borrow or lend money, the time just isn't favourable and you may end up really struggling to return it so think of instead, something you can do in exchange for extra cash! Garden and lawn work (include removing leaves from gutters), mechanical service and, or repairs, or simply car washing and detailing, or house cleaning and doing some laundry and ironing services. Help yourself by helping others and don't forget to keep logs and receipts for tax purposes.

There is so much time this month it might feel like the longest month of the year! Work will seem a lot busier than it really is and by the end of the day, you'll feel tired even when you're not. Go check out the new salon down the road (or whatever you've had your eye on), summer is just around the corner. Enjoy a relaxing massage, or you can give someone a massage. Toast in the solarium or if you are like me, sit out and bathe in the sun with a good book and don't forget the sunscreen.

While you are feeling in the mood, look for that book you keep thinking of. There's still much to learn about you! If you'd like to find out more on something in particular, begin that journey now. An Introduction to Baby Signs

The moment your Cosmic Angel drew breath, whether they were premature or post term, they where filled with Cosmic DNA that makes them unique.

Although they will share the planet with 1/12th of the earth’s population who share their birth sign, they themselves are unique. It will take 2,500 years before your baby’s birth chart is duplicated and even if you have Cosmic Twins, even the minutes separating them, will bring unique differences.

Each planet in your baby’s birth chart has a role to play in your child’s life. They are their Guardian Angels, there to help make sure that your child fulfils the Secret Promise they were born with.

The Sun is there as your Cosmic Angel’s eyes. The Sun’s promise to your child, is that for all of their life, he will be their eyes and windows to the world. He’ll show the way and be the headlights for their life and even when they’re old and their eyesight fails, the Sun will still be their eyes.

The Moon comes forward and says, ‘I will be your emotions’. The watery realms of shifting feelings, intuition are the realm of your baby’s Moon and throughout their life, how they handle their emotions, will be in control of the Moon.

Mercury comes forward and says, ‘I will be your mind’. From the moment of birth, Mercury rules your baby’s brain, how it is hardwired and how it operates. Mercury will operate in your baby’s life in 12 month cycles.

Venus comes forward and says, ‘I will be your heart’ and from that moment on, Venus protects the most fragile part of a human being. In Venus’ hands is a tiny heart, so capable of love and of being loved, that nothing is required. Love itself is the food of the heart and so long as you never stand in its way, then the life of this child, will be filled with love. Venus will operate in your baby’s life in 12 month cycles.

Mars comes forward and says, ‘I will be your spirit of adventure’. Mars will be there, giving your baby a fighting spirit and a very human need for a quest. Mars will take your Cosmic Angel in and out of danger, scrapes and battles. He’ll take them up trees and into risky and dangerous situations. Mars knows no consequences and by the time your child reaches 2 years old, he or she will probably have more maturity. Long may the spirit of Mars live in your child, for without him, we would never take risks and that’s what life is all about. Mars will operate in your child’s life, in 2 year cycles.

Jupiter comes forward and says, ‘What will this child become’. He’s the planet that will make sure that there are dreams and ambitions in your child’s life, that there will always be goals to achieve and dreams to chase. He will bring many adventures into your child’s life and will operate through your baby’s life, in 12 year cycles of expansion.

Saturn comes forward and says, ‘Where are the rules and consequences, I will be the teacher and the taskmaster’. Saturn is the anchor in your child’s life and the keeper of the rules of human behaviour. He’s the planet that will bring growth through learning and he’ll ensure that through life experiences that they grow into the human being they were destined to become. Saturn doesn’t ask that your child never makes mistakes, but that they learn from those mistakes. Saturn’s cycles are huge and last 30 years.

Uranus comes forward and says, ‘Where does this child belong in the world, I will show them’. Uranus is the first of the generational planets. He spends 7 years in one sign and everyone born within that 7 year period, will see life through the same Uranian influence.

Neptune comes forward and says, ‘What about the soul and the imagination, where is the desire for beauty, spirituality and the divine? I will show this child where to find these’. Neptune cycles are even longer and again, everyone born in one Neptune, era, which can last up to 10 years, will share the same philosophies.

Last of all, Pluto comes forward and says, ‘This child needs to be an individual, to forever fight against anything that contains and labels him or her. I will give the drive and obsession to break through boundaries and rebel against conformity’. This is an energy that inspires a generation and all children born in a 20 year span, share the same Pluto. This is rebellion against the parent’s way of life and the safety valve to ensure that Human Beings constantly evolve.

Your Cosmic Angel is stamped, with this unique Cosmic DNA and for the rest of their days, this is who they are.

But the planets don’t stop, they continue to orbit and as they do, they influence the planets in your child’s birth chart.

The first major cycle to complete, is your child’s first Solar Cycle. This is their first birthday. The Sun returns to the same position as it occupied when they were born. The Sun says "Hey, I know you kiddo, how’ve you been? What did you think of your first ride? Want to go around again?’ Your child’s reborn into a new solar year at this point and a whole new adventure begins. This will continue for the rest of their lives.

Venus and Mercury will begin their second cycles around the same time, give or take a few weeks. When Venus returns, so to will your child’s sense of what they like and don’t like. At around a year, your child will become fussier and know what it likes and doesn’t like. What you don’t see, is Venus. She arrives back and says to your child, ‘Remember me? I’m the one that says it’s okay to have whatever you want’. At which your child thinks, ‘That’s right, I can too – MUMMMMMM I want!!’

Mercury returns at around the same time and it’s then that your baby’s brain becomes a lot smarter. Mercury returns and says, ‘You think you’ve learnt a lot on that cycle, wait till you see what I’ve got to show you on the next trip’. At this point your child’s thirst for knowledge increases and its hunger for learning.

At around 2 years of age, Mars returns and boy oh boy, you’ll know about this one. This is the reason behind the Terrible Two’s. Mars is that sense of adventure, danger and of battle. Your 2 year old is begging for a fight because he’s got so much Mars energy in his system, he needs somewhere to put it. Mars comes back, pumps that little body with his energy and whispers in your child’s ear, ‘Who do they think they are, they’re not the boss of you, you’re the boss of you!’.

These solar, Venus, Mercury and Mars cycles will continue throughout your child’s life, but the next major cycle comes when they’re 12 years of age. This is when all children will have their first ever Jupiter Return. This is when they get very inspired about their future and there is a sense of coming of age and growing up.

At around 13 to 15, Saturn is half way through his cycle, a cycle he won’t complete until your child is 29 years old. At its half way point, Saturn confronts your child and when he does, it looks, smells, tastes and feels to your child like the world is against them – welcome to the teenage years and teenage angst – but then, that’s a long way off for your Cosmic Angels.

Emotional Problems

Psychological distress, whether arising from personality traits, biochemical imbalances, or difficult or uncomfortable circumstances, can have a profound effect on your physical wellbeing and quality of life. Sympathy and support from a trusted person, together with home remedies and lifestyle changes, can often ease difficulties.

The constant stress of living with unresolved emotions, such as sadness, anger, anxiety and fear, can affect you physically, because it changes levels of hormones and neurotransmitters (chemicals that convey messages between nerves). Such changes can make you feel sluggish and tired and may depress your immune system. This then increases your susceptibility to infection and illnesses, such as rheumatoid arthritis, that are triggered by attach from your own immune cells.

The way that you respond emotionally to problems in life is shaped by your personality, experience and circumstances. You may become ill as a result of a problem that someone else copes with relatively easily. However, it is possible to learn how to better manage emotional problems.

Your usual responses to difficult situations are not unchangeable. You may have emotions that are uncomfortably close to the surface, last too long and disrupt your wellbeing and relationships; however, you can learn to deal with situations in a different way. If you are emotionally restrained, bottling up your feelings, you can learn to become more open. Aim to develop self-knowledge, accept your strengths and your weaknesses, and recognise and commit yourself to your main goals in life. If making decisions upsets you, practise clarifying your options and objectives. Don't be afraid to acknowledge your sense of loss or any other feelings about the life choices you may have rejected.

It is important to remember that total control of all aspects of your life is neither possible nor desireable! Try to adjust your expectations accordingly. If a misunderstanding with another person is causing you distress, try this: arrange a meeting at which both people take uninterrupted turns to say how they feel. State your case in the first person – for example, "I feel hurt when you do that", rather than, "You make me feel hurt". This means you comment on the behaviour, not the person. Listen carefully to the other's response.

Optimism appears to give some protection against mental and physical ailments! If you tend to see only the worst aspects of situations, make an effort to take a more balanced view. For example, if a relationship breaks down, the disadvantages may be all too clear, but there are potential benefits, too: you might have the opportunity to move to a different area or follow interests that your partner didn't share. Even if you can't see a situation in a positive way, it may be more bearable if you try to move on, accepting that nothing stays the same in life, rather than dwelling on your emotional pain.

A Heavenly Combination!

The temporary Sunday School teacher was struggling to open a combination lock on the supply cabinet. She had been told the combination, but couldn't quite remember it. Finally she went to the pastor's study and asked for help.

The pastor came into the room and began to turn the dial. After the first two numbers he paused and stared blankly for a moment.

Finally he look serenely heavenward and his lips moved silently.

Then he looked back at the lock, quickly turned to the final number, and opened the lock.

The teacher was amazed.

"I'm in awe at your faith, pastor," she said.

"It's really nothing," he answered. "The number is on a piece of tape on the ceiling."

Time for fruition and success!

It feels so good when things work so why is there still tension?

It may be that there are unresolved issues which are still causing tension in your relationship. We may not be aware of them. Things are moving forward and feel great but there still needs to be that one little problem sorted out so sit down together and try talking about it again. It's the only way you are going to resolve it. Ask yourself, what's really causing the problem?

Your efforts at work are paying off! It's almost as though you've found a better way of handling matters and it's really working out for you. If you've changed work recently or have been promoted or you're in between things, the energy is leaning more towards success and also building on your success, is great!

Be mindful of your intention as beneficial growth depends on it, and sometimes we need to let some things go so that we can grow.

Your work reflects who you are. It shows your natural knack for it and we spend a lot of time in work, even when we are home, work is still on our minds, sometimes, hours after we've finished so it's important we choose work which is ourself.

Focus on what type of work you are doing at the moment. Are you happy? What can you do to improve?

Plan a weekend getaway, take a longer holiday and take a break! Walk alongside the river, shop at the markets, sit outside at night, watch the world go by. Whatever you do, relax.

August is a wonderful time to sit with our thoughts. Think about the direction your life is heading. Are you happy? If there are things which aren't working, it might be time to take a closer look. It could be a good time to make a change. Spend time thinking and you'll be surprised.

Light a candle, burn some sandalwood oil and simply meditate with your journal and pen.

For Your Home

Decorating doesn't have to be a struggle.

There's a lot about colours, textures, themes, etc within the home but what happens if you don't have time to learn or you're simply uninterested yet you want to have a nice home? Design is not for everyone. Some of us know exactly how we want things to appear in our home but this doesn't mean we all do. However we can all agree, we want it to look nice.

If you've been trying hard and nothing works and you've had enough, you are about to chuck a red sofa on to a zebra rug then you've found the article for you! In this article I'll explore different, simple ideas for decorating your home.

Let's take a look at nature. Nature doesn't mind how it appears. It's just nature. It seems happy doing it's own thing and yet it doesn't mind we build houses upon it and paint those even purple! We can all take a leaf out of nature's book and just be. It's ok to be natural.

Your home doesn't have to look like a page out of a shop magazine, after all it's not a display, it's a home where people live. It's a space which is used by all the different people in your home. A warm home reflects it's occupant's preferences. Ever walked into a house and it looked like a page out of a magazine? It feels unnatural, almost as though the people living there propped it up in five minutes.

We are more relaxed and happy when decorating our home using items which have meaning so, don't use furniture or items around the home which don't reflect your desires. Large furniture can make a room look smaller than it really is, especially if the room is already small. Smaller bookcases in lighter wooden stains are favourable. If you like to have more room for places to put pictures frames and ornaments then using the top of a bookcase is a great start.

Most of us develop problems when we remove the things which are most important to us and fill our home with the latest trends. It's fine to introduce fashions, etc but don't forget what is important, so letting go of ideas about colour themes and styles can help keep the focus on blending in new fashions or trends in the home.

Your items can harmonize no mater what they may be. If they have meaning to you, they will fit right in. Different picture frames throughout the home add character and personality! A small table covered with a frilly cover or any cover of your choice, with a candle, can bring warmth in the home. Perhaps placing a small bowl of fruit on top.

Don't be afraid to reinvent yourself and your home will soon follow. Paint your own pictures and hang them. Children make funny and bright paintings for around the home. I once walked into a home where the lady who lived there loved comics and framed comics! Get rid of things which have little meaning or none at all. Keep things that do. Try to have something from everyone who lives in the house.

Avoid letting someone else dictate to you what your home should look like and let's face it, one size doesn't suit all. I love green, pink, brown, honey coloured wood and ivory, so you can imagine what my home looks like. Enjoy creating your living space. It's you, it's warm, it's funny, it's welcoming ... it's beautiful.

How To Make Your Money Grow!

Ok. So money doesn't really grow unless you plant your own money tree, that ...

Imagine only a few moments ago you planted a young sapling and you gave it just enough water to ensure a good start. You even propped it up with a stake! You'll continue to nurture it, to feed it and water it. With each passing year, your young sapling will grow stronger. It will grow taller, healthy and strong. As it ages, your tree can better defend itself from natural predators and even harsh weather.

Growing your savings is similar to growing your new tree. Given lots of tender care, your savings account will become your money tree. You can use the following tips to give you a great start. So, grab your shovel and let's get planting!

Nurture your Savings

To build savings you can enjoy for a lifetime, prop it up with nutrients to help it grow. Feed your account with bonuses. You can deposit money saved through canceled subscriptions, small wins on those lottery tickets and don't forget unexpected windfalls, either. How about money owed and paid back to you. Be sure to include these amounts, even if they're small. Small is great and do-able. So nurture your savings weekly with money saved from small things. Do you buy items on sale? Take that money you've saved and use it to grow your account. Tuck small amounts away. Deposit weekly.

Shower your fund with birthday, anniversary or holiday gifts of money and refunds, too! This is money you normally wouldn't have had (or already spent) and remember, out of sight, out of mind!

Protect your Savings from natural enemies

Just as you might spray your tree to ward off insects or disease, you need to protect your savings too because it's precious and a result of your patience. Avoid spending too much time with others who make it seem "natural" to go through money. They may not give it much thought because spending is a comfortable habit for them but, you actually have a plan and you have the big picture of how and when you'll spend so you need to decide the "where" and "why" of spending "your" money. Make your spending thoughtful.

Pace yourself as you spend your weekly amounts of money. For instance if you use $35 per week, for lunches, that gives you five dollars per day. So stay just under that five, and you'll always be a few dollars ahead. You'll also be less tempted to tap your savings. Practice using "tough love" with chronic spenders who repeatedly ask to borrow your money. Give yourself permission to state firmly that borrowing your money is "not" an option. Remove any stakes that prop up others' spending. Say yes to protecting and taking care of your money. It will be there to support you, your family, and your needs, firstly.

Maintain healthy growth

Small amounts add up big time, so keep money coming into your account on a regular basis. Keep it growing! Remember why you set up your savings. Know your balance at all times. Keep your eye on the bigger picture. Don't quit. Will it help you pay for a gently used car, eliminating future car payments year after year? Is it your "freedom from working for others" savings fund? Begin with one great strategy and use it to create a steady stream of money to feed your savings. Will it be a direct deposit into your savings account from your employer? Will you fund it by using only small amounts of what you can already afford and setting aside all change at the end of each day? If so, scoop up your change and deposit regularly. Weekly is good.

Each month, find a new, creative way to put more money in your savings. Then find another method and repeat for a month. Keep the top three or four methods which seem to work best for you. Toss the rest because you want methods that work for you consistently.

Why not begin with spending $10 less on your weekly shopping? Tuck your $10 into your savings right away. It's simple and it won't leave you feeling deprived. Feel the wonder of knowing that your money tree will continue to grow. Like a faithful friend it will remain at your side and a comfort in the rough patches of life. It has the power to draw your dream out of the darkness and into the light. How long have you had that special dream? Only you know.

Now, what will you do with your own money tree? Remember your friend. Is it important to you they are always around?

Plant one today! Nurture it. Protect it and watch it grow.

Most people experience stress in response to various physical. Mental or emotional stimuli. Some stress in our lives can bring out the best in us, but if the level of tension is too high or lasts too long, we may lose our ability to cope and may even become ill. Everyone needs to learn effective ways of dealing with unavoidable stress.

The challenge of stress can be exciting, stimulating or energising. Some individuals thrive under continual stress, but most people find that they can cope for only so long before developing physical problems, or 'distress'. Stress hormone levels normally fall once the stress is over and you can relax. The hormone levels may stay elevated if the stress continues or recurs frequently, or if you get into the habit of reacting to any stress, however minor, with distress. Research indicates that as much as 75% of disease is stress-related!

It is not always possible to avoid the events that cause stress, but you can modify your response to stimuli (provoke, or start a reaction). Learn stress management strategies so that the next time you feel stressed, you can choose one that is appropriate for you. This will allow your stress hormone levels to fall and help you 'flow' with whatever life brings. These include, relaxation, balance and perspective, self-management, time management, relationships, help and support avenues.

Many things influence your response to stress, including birth order, age, gender, education, experience, personality, expectations and health. Common causes of continual stress include: loss or bereavement, poor relationships, money worries, umeployment, poor time-management, insufficient recreation and relaxation, boredom and ill health. Prolonged presence og high levels of stress hormones may produce one or more of the following mental and physical symptoms: raised heart rate. Rapid, shallow breathing, dry mouth. Sweating. Shaking. Weight loss or gain, indigestion, recurrent infections, tearfulness, headaches, difficulty concentraing. Irritability and sleeping difficulties.

The first part of stress management is to take note of what or who makes you feel stressed and how you react. The second is to reduce avoidable stresses in your life by, for example, leaving an unsuitable job, living within your means, or making your workplace more comfortable. The third element of stress management is to use various strategies to help you respond to unavoidable pressures in a constructive way. At home therapies include; diet, meditation, aromatherapy, herbal remedies, acupressure, reflexology and flower essences; a counsellor or psychotherapist can help you manage stress and examine the reasons why you may find coping with stress difficult. Acupuncture and many forms of therapy that involve exercise or physical manipulation (such as tai chi, massage and yoga) can ease stress-related symptoms.

Other people can reduce or bring on stress! Try to: Nurture intimate relationships. Improve your communication skills. Recognise other people's feelings and seperate them from your own. Deal with relationship problems and avoid putting it off. Keep in touch with friends, offer encouragement and support to those around you. Realise that you have resources both within yourself and outside of yourself. Ask for any support you need, whether from a member of your family, a friend or a counsellor.

What goes around comes around

It's a good time to think about what you can do to bring harmony into your relationship. It's the perfect time to make good on any promises. Has there been something you have been considering working on? The energy is stirring with communication and the focus will be on problem solving within relationships either with loved ones or friendships. This includes work related.

How do you feel about your job? Is it meeting your needs? Do you feel satisfied? Is there room for improvement or are challenges welcome? If you're not happy in your job it's a terrific time to think more about what could make you feel more satisfying. Work takes up a tremendous part of your days and in your life! It's important that you feel good about what you're doing.

It's difficult to calculate the finances and keep hearing those thoughts, "There is never enough money." Try to calculate your finances and add more positive affirmations to help bring more abundance into your life. Focus on having more rather than less. Keep your eyes open for our Special on How To Make Your Money Grow.

It may be a good time for a check up. Oh yes I know that you don't want to but, if you have been too busy and keep putting off having something important looked at by the doctor, or even simply need to visit the chemist (drug store) for that ointment then it's time to go.

Challenges are important. If we stay the same and do nothing we limit ourselves and we stop learning new wonderful things about ourself. It's a good time to welcome a new challenge and it doesn't have to be something you really don't feel like doing but it can be something that will make you feel good about yourself.

There is an abundance of messages. Notice them. They may be coming through your health or in the music you listen to or significant meetings you have with others. These messages are important for your journey.

Making sure you eat a healthy diet is one of the most important things you can do for yourself and your baby. For nine whole months, your body goes through the most amazing changes to protect and nourish your baby. The food that you eat, not only helps your baby grow and develop but also shapes your own body, keeping you fit and well. A healthy diet will give you the energy and nutrients you need for birth and beyond.

A healthy weight gain during pregnancy is anywhere between 12 – 16kg (26 – 36lb), though most women gain around 10 percent of your total pregnancy weight in the first three months and half of it in the middle few months and around 5kg (10lb) in the last three months and this varies for some women. It is beneficial to take a suitable antenatal vitamin mineral supplement to assist in helping you meet your nutritional needs. Discuss this with your midwife or doctor.

Your sense of smell will become quite acute during pregnancy and many women find the smell of food off-putting so avoid strong smells. Sandwiches and salads, for instance, can be just as nutritious as a cooked meal. Drink well-diluted and non-acidic juices to prevent dehydration if indeed you are being sick. You can increase your fluid intake from fruits, like melons, as well as soups, custards and yoghurt too.

Where the extra weight goes

Baby - An average birth weight is 3.2 – 3.5 kg (7 – 7.5lb). This can vary depending on your genes, own birth weight, physical size, number of previous pregnancies, age, ethnic origin, health status and diet. Increased Blood Supply - There is about 2kg (just over 4 lb). Amniotic Fluid - You are expected to have around 1 kg (just over 2 lb). Enlarged Uterus – 1 kg, Placenta – 1 kg, and Breasts – Just under 1 kg.

The remainder is normally extra adipose (fat) tissue for energy stores after the birth in preparation for breastfeeding which can use up an additional 500 kcals per day and fluid in tissues – averaging 3 to 4 kg (about half a stone). Although you need the right balance of nutrients for two bodies you don't need to double the quantity of food that you eat. If you are in good health, eat healthily and aren't smoking, simply eating more will not increase the weight of your baby, as birth depends on other facts as mentioned above.

If you haven't gained enough weight, this may affect your own health and the baby's birth weight as low weight gain tends to be associated with lower birth-weight babies. Dizzy spells and not having enough energy (exhaustion and lethargy) can lead to health complications. Alternatively, gaining a lot of weight makes you more likely to develop varicose veins, breathlessness, heartburn, swelling and increases your risk of developing complications such as high blood pressure, pregnancy-related diabetes. It is important to seek expert dietary advice if you are worried about your weight gain or lack of it.

Dessert suitable for 1st - 3rd Trimester

Custard Pears

Takes just 20 minutes to prepare and 40 minutes to cook and it serves 4 people. You will need: 4 large pears (peeled), 500 ml clear apple juice, 50g unrefined castor sugar, half vanilla pod, split down the middle, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 stem ginger, sliced or chopped, 1 tablespoon ginger syrup (optional), to serve shortbread or biscotti.

Place the peeled pears in a saucepan so they fit closely. Add the apple juice, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, ginger syrup and bring to boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover the pears with a disc of greaseproof paper and cook for 20 – 30 minutes or until they are soft. Cooking time will vary depending on how ripe the fruit is. Remove the saucepan from the heat, and turn the pears over so all sides have been coated in the liquid. Keep them covered with the greaseproof paper and allow to infuse for at least 10 – 15 minutes.

Serve with a biscuit and custard of your choice! Per serving: 200kcal/840kj less than 1g protein, virtually fat free and 30g carbohydrate with 2g fibre. Contains potassium and trace elements including calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and iron, small amounts of the B vitamins and vitamin C. This light refreshing dessert is low in calories and fat! Pears are also well tolerated, which makes them an ideal fruit in pregnancy especially when indigestion or morning sickness is a problem.

A good diet, regular exercise and stress management are at the core of any disease prevention program. Nevertheless, many other areas of life under your control can also have an impact on health. For instance, it is important not to smoke or at least cut down, and to consume moderate amounts of alcohol. Also, make sure you protect yourself against the sun's ultraviolet rays, while also getting sufficient exposure to natural light. In addition investigate ways to eliminate or reduce toxins, allergens and contaminants in your home.

Many people enjoy smoking or drinking, but both can adversely affect health and the more you indulge in either habit, the riskier it becomes. The addictive nature of nicotine encourages ongoing exposure to the harmful tars and gases in tobacco smoke. Breathing the smoke from other people's cigarettes or cigars (passive smoking) also carries risks, although of a lower order.

Health problems linked to smoking include osteoporosis, arterial disease, deafness, ulcerative colitis, anxiety and depression, rheumatoid arthritis, mouth, lung and other cancers, asthma, bronchitis and emphysema, premature skin aging, poor wound healing and the destruction of 25 milligrams of vitamin C per cigarette. Recent research has also uncovered, smoking shrinks the organs; resulting in weight loss and keeping weight down. Smoking or passive smoking by a pregnant woman can lead to low birth weight in the baby. Parental smoking before and after the birth increases the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS, or cot death).

Drinking in moderation and at appropriate times has little or no negative effect and may even be beneficial to your heart, perhaps because it raises the levels of HDL cholesterol – the good kind of cholesterol. However, driving or undertaking other potentially hazardous operations after drinking alcohol increases the risk of accidents. Overindulgence can cause a hangover. Drinking too much in any one session intensifies your current mood and in the long run has a depressant effect. Alcohol consumption disrupts normal sleep patterns, and addiction can lead to social problems (including violence), malnutrition, high blood pressure, gastritis, liver damage and reduced liver function, and mouth and other cancers.

Drinking alcohol during pregnancy can adversely affect the health of the unborn baby. Once consumed, alcohol is absorbed into the bloodstream. The liver gradually breaks down the circulating alcohol into other substances and eventually clears alcohol from the blood completely, unless you have drunk more alcohol in the meantime. The more alcohol you drink, the longer it takes for the liver to clear it from your bloodstream.

Drinking one unit of alcohol (a glass of average strength beer, a glass of wine or single measure of spirits) raises the blood alcohol level by 15 milligrams per 100 millilitres. It takes an hour for the average person's body to clear a drink containing one unit of alcohol. Women are more susceptible than men to the damaging effects of alcohol because they absorb it faster and develop higher levels in their blood.

If you want to smoke or drink less, or stop completely: acknowledge the pros and cons of both your habit and being a nonsmoker or nondrinker. Look at alternative, nondamaging ways of enjoying yourself and managing stress. Forgive yourself for any lapses, then resume abstinence. Accept any need for support, then find that help. Some home comforts can be hazardous to your health. Wall to wall carpets, for example, harbor dust mites, which can trigger asthma and eczema in some people. Dust mites also flourish in the warm, still air encouraged by well-heated and well-insulated homes! Electrical gadgets create electromagnetic fields, which at close range may increase the risk of cancer. Make your home safe by adopting as many as possible of the following strategies:

Making your home a healthy place; Fresh air! Introduce fresh air as much as possible. Avoid extremes of temperature and humidity. Keep houseplants to freshen the air, some plants can absorb certain potentially toxic chemicals. Among the most efficient plants are spider plants, chrysanthemums, peace lilies, weeping figs, gerberas and dracaenas. Do not use household cleaners and other chemicals in spray form; these encourage asthma in susceptible people. Try applying the product to a dry cloth instead. Whenever possible, substitute such substances as bicarbonate of soda and vinegar for harsh household cleaners. Have adequate lighting in the home. Keep sound levels within reasonable limits, and avoid sitting to close to the sides or back of a television or computer for long periods of time. Carefully follow instructions when using potentially poisonous chemicals. Finally, consider installing a carbon-monoxide detector, especially if you have a gas stove or a garage attached t o your home.
