			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When a healer is mentioned images of a person dedicated to helping others through knowledge comes to mind in most people. Whether this image takes the form of Doctor, Psychologist, Massage therapist or Herbal Medicine Doctor is often irrelevant to the issue at hand. Sickness and dis-ease is a cause for concern in all peoples and the natural response is to alleviate the causes and symptoms and return to a state of wellbeing.</p>
<p>In our search for recovery and wellbeing we are likely to consult with experts in the field, people who have dedicated their lives to discovering the causes and cures for the ills that befall us. The knowledge imparted is valuable and in our quest for a reason that sometimes begins with &#8220;why me?&#8221;, we discover that science has part of this answer. Often our own health and recovery then becomes the responsibility of another. It is not uncommon for people to believe that their own health is dependant upon anothers knowledge, expertise and success rate. This feeling of dependency and dis-empowerment leaves the individual more vulnerable and susceptable than the illness itself has already made them.</p>
<p>Yet amongst the experts opinions and wide variety of treatment methodologies available there is a personal expert that is capable of returning us to a state of wellbeing and provide the wisdom for real recovery. This expert I call <em>The Healer Within</em>, this healer exists within all of us and knows us better than we may know ourselves. All knowledge is at his disposal and often her voice is the last to be heard.</p>
<p>When we recognise that we are in a state of dis-ease it is a call to action, a place to move from and an advancement on our lifes journey. It is interesting to note here that in some traditions the idea of medicine and experience are synonymous. That is that experience was the key to a healthy well balanced person. The healer within offers us advice on our life journey for the experiences that are best for us. As little as 10 years ago the idea of our thoughts having an effect on our physical wellbeing would have been laughed off as rediculous by the medical community, yet as the mind-body link becomes more mainstream, there is incontrubatable evidence that a positive mindset is one of the keys to good physical health. Hoorah! says the Healer within, I told you that if you stopped taking others opinions so seriously you could rid yourself of that stomach ulcer.</p>
<p>Natural medicines are also making a resurgancy in our overall health care plans, people disenchanted with the side effects and expenses of prescribed medications are looking to more natural alternatives to take their place. From massage and acupuncture to vitamin suppliments people are discovering that they can provide themselves with the most effective treatments for their own body. Guided of course by the Healer within.</p>
<p>The nature of health care will continue to evolve as it has. The healer within guiding all of us to help us to help ourselves to what works and what does not. Not only does the healer within help us to reframe our mental approach to healing, she helps us to find others that he can communicate with. Those that are able to communicate with their clients well and recognise what their patients inner healer is trying to express will continue to help others through empowerment, knowledge and wisdom in amazing ways. Those who are able to stand back in amazement at their &#8220;patient&#8217;s&#8221; Inner Healer and be glad to know that they were able to help this person meet their own Healer and will never need the assistance again will indeed be in high demand.</p>
<p>Throughout the ages people have searched for this Holy grail of health only to discover that it exists within all of us. I call it<em> The Healer Inside </em>and it exists for you should you have the courage to take responsibility for your own health.</p>
<h3>Keys to connecting to your own Inner Healer</h3>
<p>Be aware of your own inner feelings and thoughts. If you are looking to others for answers as to why, how and fix me you are likely to be ignoring that small voice in the back of your mind that has suggested a possible course of action. As a Reiki channel I often expreience others ignoring their own inner healer. They call me asking about Reiki in general - no doubt guided by their own Inner Healer who would like nothing more than to have a pair of hands to pass some energy through. Naturally they are suspicious as no doctor that I have ever met has recognised any type of energy work as being beneficial. Fortunately the Inner healer has more determination than any person I&#8217;ve ever met. So the second phone call comes - &#8220;Can I claim this on my health insurance?&#8221; Sorry not at the moment, but maybe in about 5 years you might be able to.</p>
<p><em>So lesson 1 from the inner healer is to do what you feel compelled to do</em>. If it is a person you feel that you need to see then try that. Its amazing that uncle Fred has had this problem before and drank camomile tea every night for a week and its never returned. The Inner Healer is guiding you through the wisdom of experience. Follow him for personalised advice.</p>
<p>I think its safe to say that everybody has visited a health care professional that was more interesting in getting you out the door with a one shot cure than really knowing about how much pain you were suffering. Yes it is very unfortunate that they dont have the miracle cure that cures all ills. Especially given that they are wearing the responsibility for OUR health.</p>
<p><em>Lesson 2 from the inner healer is to take responsibility for your own healing, finding somebody that can assist you is the key as nobody is going to do it for you. </em>Trust your gut instict about the modality and professional you are choosing. Every person is an individual, some respond best to traditional medicine and others respond better to alternative medicine. Trust in your own choice and not in measures of status.</p>
<p>Metaphysics is a powerful tool in healing and creating our life. Learning from Authors such as Louise Hays about how they were able to use their mind to working for them rather than against them is beneficial in discovering why illness has come into our life. Be aware that our thoughts bring energy to assist them in their purpose. Positivity is healthy and natural for us.</p>
<p><em>Lesson 3 from the inner healer is to create a positive mindset so the healing has a place to stay when it occurs. </em></p>
<h3>Conclusion</h3>
<p>Trust in your own Inner Healer. Allow others to assist you in your healing journey and know that the universe supports the decisions that you make. Its often frightening to realise that our lifestyle needs to change, yet at the same time we can choose a lifestyle more suited to ourselves as a whole - mind, body and spirit. Illness comes to us as a gift full of potential, wisdom health and changes for the better. It is up to us to take the hand of our inner healer and make the most of the ride.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s no secret that most of us are too hard on ourselves. The great majority of us are constantly worried and concerned about whether we are good enough and we spend a lot of money on fashion, accessories and expensive hairstyles. At some time in our life, perhaps during our adolescent years we adopted superficial ideals and expectations of ourselves and each other. For instance, what is attractive and what is not, how to dress, how to behave and how to spend our money.</p>
<p>One of the strongest influencing factors in all areas of our lives is advertising and the media. Unfortunately these are often unrealistic and rather a delusion, making a lot of people feel incompetent and have the need to compare each other. Most of us naturally reach a time in our maturing lives to recognise it and release most of the delusions although this is not always the case of having self acceptance. Most of us believe we will feel happy and content about ourselves once our life is problem free but there is a strong possibility we could be waiting our whole life through and it may not happen at all.</p>
<p>Our life challenges will lessen and dissipate when we are consciously working towards this. Although we may enjoy having high standards it is important to view ourselves through loving and accepting eyes. Self acceptance will come from a realistic, healthy and positive mind-set without worrying about whether we fit in or are going to be accepted but knowing that we already are, leaving no room for negative thoughts or actions which delude our own self acceptance and natural serenity.</p>
<p>Being able to have self acceptance is having the ability to love, approve and appreciate ourselves unconditionally. Feeling accepted and appreciated for who and what we are is our natural state of being. With allowing ourselves the opportunity we may find we let go of certain things in our lives which simply don&#8217;t support this.</p>
<p>No matter what we have done in our past there is nothing we could have done which is worthy of us berating ourselves. We can let go of our negative self-critical judgments and enjoy being ourselves. We may find that we develop healthier lifestyles, happier home and work relationships as a result. To live content and seek your elegance rather than somebody else&#8217;s luxury and devour your individual refinement rather than follow the ever-changing fashion trends. To feel and be worthy.</p>
<p>Just for today, If you don&#8217;t feel like spending your precious hour before work by fighting with your hairstyle, don&#8217;t. Sleep in an extra deserving while, take a longer shower and prepare a nicer breakfast, save your loose change. Most people can spend up to ten dollars on a take away breakfast every morning. In one week that is enough to get yourself a massage!</p>
<p>&#8220;<em>Work like you don&#8217;t need the money, love like you&#8217;ve never been hurt, and dance like no one is watching!</em>&#8221; - axiom</p>
<p>We know in our hearts that we are already good enough. It was never the case that we were not. There are many more important values than how we dress or what we buy. We are perfect just the way we are and every part of us is wonderful. We are deserving of feeling secure about ourselves. Listen and hear the echoes of your Higher Self with an open heart, grow freely and allow your spiritual self to learn through the common everyday.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Reiki is a channeling of the life force that connects us all. This energy has many names including chi, prana and pure love. The transmission of Reiki energy is done through the hands of the Reiki practitioner. The Usai method of Reiki is one of the most well recognised forms and is passed from master to practitioner through means of an &#8216;attunement&#8217;.</p>
<p>Reiki energy has been used by healers to generate a state of calm in the receiver that allows the bodies natural healing abilities to become activated. Hence it has been claimed to free the body from dis-ease.</p>
<p>Often whilst undergoing Reiki treatments the emotional or mental cause of the physical problem will often be revealed to the receiver. Reiki has a way of dislodging the harmful thoughts we have held towards ourselves and allows them to be released. People undergoing Reiki treatments often experience a feeling of &#8216;journeying&#8217; as they contact their higher self.</p>
<p>Naturally the receivers willingness to heal is one of the most important aspects of the treatment&#8217;s effectiveness. A belief in Reiki can also be beneficial but is not essential. The Reiki practitioner acts as the assistant for the receiver&#8217;s own desire to heal. The body of a receptive receiver will naturally pull the energy through the hands of the practitioner.</p>
<p>After a Reiki treatment the receiver is likely to be in a more serene state and may feel a closer attraction to nature and the world. Sometimes the &#8216;journeying&#8217; aspect of Reiki can produce profound thoughts about life and setting aside a period of introspection after the treatment is recommended.</p>
<p>Choosing a Reiki practicioner is largely an intuitive endeavour. The most appropriate practicioner is the one you receive the most benefit from. Most people have the ability to feel Reiki energy using their normal senses. This varies from person to person but overall the most commonly reported feelings are heat, cooling calm or a magnetic feeling. Overall the best practicioner for you is the one that &#8216;feels right&#8217;. There are a number of practicioners and various methods, once again trust your own intuition. Being comfortable with your healer is essential.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The state of unhappiness and suffering are often the results when we are afraid to let go of an unhealthy situation. Holding on to something which is only making us feel unhappy drains us in so many ways and we become weak, dependent and fearful which may extend into self pity and sorrow.</p>
<p>Our own truths are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy or unfulfilled. For in these moments we are so compelled by our discomfort that we are likely to step out of our unhappy situation and start searching for different ways or deeper meanings.</p>
<p>It seems how we feel when we hear the words surrender and release affects us immensley during our struggle and often makes all the difference. For instance, if an individual believes surrender to mean the action of resignation and the acceptance of despair, they are more likely to remain longer in their unhappy situation rather than an individual who believes surrender to mean capitulation which is the act of surrendering under our own agreed conditions. In other words - to make a compromise with yourself.</p>
<p>We can choose to decide upon capitulation of our unhappy situation in favour of the opportunity to give ourself a fresh start and welcome new beginnings. As we willingly release and begin the process which liberates us from the unhappy situation alas allowing it to begin to heal, we may find we gain the necessary clarity which was not apparent to us before. In having gained clarity individuals often regain their own self determination and strength.</p>
<p>The important thing is to be able to let go of what we are for what we could become.</p>
<p>Being able to surrender and release is accepting being able to choose better for us. If we are able to hold on then we are able to let go. It can take a lot of courage to let go and trust in the decision to do so but It may also be one of the most valuable decisions we can ever make.</p>
<p>How we spend our days is of course how we spend our lives and life can be so assembled that a situation or an event does not match the expectation. Too many of us worry deeply about having enough security instead of having enough opportunity. We seem to be more concerned about making changes rather than being unhappy.</p>
<p>&#8220;<em>happiness is not a destination in which you will arrive at in a hurry, it is your journey there</em>&#8221; - axiom</p>
<p>Whenever we decide to free ourselves of a negative situation we are consciously making the choice toward something more satisfying for us even if we can&#8217;t see the outcome. We are trusting in the process of our life in so many positive and loving ways. If we could see the miracle in letting go our whole life would change.</p>

<p>This is just the beginning for you. Embrace and devour what you are about to learn. You are an individual and will progress at your own pace. Along the path, you may do a lot of healing in many areas of your life. Take your time. Trust in this process. Sometimes, we need to face our troubles again, till we overcome them. Time is on your side.</p>
<p>Changing negative thoughts in to positive thoughts is rather a challenge. This is purely because the current negative thoughts have concrete paths of direction in the mind, and they travel very quickly sending the messages through. This is what the mind is programmed to do, unfortunately when we adopt negative behavior, we immediately begin to create this in to our reality as well.</p>
<p>When driving to and from work you may take the same roads each day, and this is similar to how the mind works regarding your routine (pattern) thoughts. It happens instantly so, if you are deciding to change the paths and directions, be willing and prepared to work hard. You will need to be consistent and if your negative thoughts creep up on you, you need to take the steering wheel and turn around again.</p>
<p>During some time, you would have created a few quiet streets and a lot of street lights along the way. Perhaps roundabouts and plenty of parking spaces as well. It is all very important. Eventually you&#8217;ll create freeways of positive thoughts which will become your new direction replacing the old.</p>
<p>From my own experience, you may remember the old directions back to negative thinking however, you are not likely to make that expensive journey there again. Your new direction will acts as the old one had and this will be your concrete direction. Simply, negative thoughts become replaced with positive ones and the magic is in what you believe. There may be a lot of soul searching to do however, I am confident we all realise how special we really are and we do make an important and significant difference in the world. We will realise how we affect each other and our future.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Throughout the centuries and in many different cultures flowers have been strong symbols of love, life and growth. The spirit of a flower is strong and uplifting. People have deepened their relationships to each other and nature through the giving of flowers.</p>
<p>Flower essences are liquid solutions which capture the healing qualities of different flowers. Each flower&#8217;s form, colour and scent reflects the flower&#8217;s spirit. Like different flowers appearance and aroma affect our state of mind so too can the essences of different flowers.</p>
<p>These essences are extracted by allowing natural spring water to absorb the qualities of the flower and then preserved in a solution of brandy. They can compliment many other healing modalities and are an extremely safe and a non intrusive form of therapy.</p>
<p>Flower essences have a number of treatment methods:</p>

<li>by ingesting a dilute solution</li>
<li>applying topically on the body or</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We love our families dearly. They are the place where we find unconditional love and endless support. However, this can also be the most challenging part of our lives. Our family members hold a very fixed view about us. They tend to believe that their view is correct and although they know us very well, people change. They may have not noticed the changes, or perhaps have not changed much themselves. This is where it can get a little difficult, as they keep relating to you in the same way. It can be confusing, frustrating and sometimes even cruel.</p>
<p>Let go. Give yourself the chance to find clarity. You may find it easier to be with them and start to heal old wounds. One of the most important lessons you will learn, is to love and be loved in return, unconditionally.</p>
<p>Feelings of resentment are natural when we feel that we have been undermined, betrayed, disappointed and let down. Forgiveness is quite often a lot easier said than done because we either do not want to, or can not.</p>
<p>Whilst you are in decision about what choice to make, consider the impact upon yourself. Think about the way you are feeling, and how this person&#8217;s actions have hurt you. No matter what has happened and taken place to cause the situation, the person who has hurt you chose their own action. They have the same choices available to them just as you have. There is no doubt that although it may appear they feel better by hurting you, that in fact, they do not.</p>
<p>Release your anger and do not hold on to it because it is only hurting you. Forgiveness is a wonderful part of life and learning to forgive is being able to make room for any necessary healing to take place. Give yourself time to be able to forgive. To learn that it is not as important, what happens, as it is, how we deal with it. Choose lovingly for yourself. Tell yourself, &#8216;I am a loving and caring person, and I only attract loving and caring people into my life!&#8217; and that is what will happen. To free your heart of anger, it is not necessary to forgive the action but the person.</p>
<p>We accept the sky is blue and the grass is green. We can even accept the challenges in life and the past however, we struggle with the future, the process of life, our dreams coming true, the idea miracles do happen, and our gut feelings to change something in our life. Doubting the hair standing up on the back of our neck could be an Angel passing by and we will find someone who will love and accept us, for who we truly are, and so on.</p>
<p>We hold on to our fears and keep trying to push forward with little reward, for all of our hard work and efforts. We are not happy but cannot figure out why.</p>
<p>Let yourself be. Trust in the process of your own life. Rest in the understanding that your life unfolds in the way it is meant. Accept that wherever you are, there will be good days and there will be bad days. Try to see yourself through the eyes of your heart. Allow its wisdom to be your teacher. Tell yourself, &#8216;I don&#8217;t mind not knowing where I am heading!&#8217;</p>
<p>You will be surprised where you will carry yourself!</p>
<p>The first lesson in gaining wisdom is being able to say, &#8216;I don&#8217;t know.&#8217; Wisdom is being able to accept, and acceptance is wisdom. Accept yourself and everyone around you in the same way you accept the grass beneath your feet is green!</p>
<p>You are the most important person in your life.</p>
<p>You are, where all of your dreams begin. Believe, that you can have everything your heart desires. Think about you and all your wonderful aspects. This is what makes you special. Accept and love all of you because there is nobody like you.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many of us believe having truth and integrity is being able to agree and defend what society has taught us to believe is right and wrong. To some significance this has a value to it which is undeniable however, it seems of little substance to how each individual understands it to be.</p>
<p>We were conditioned to accept the word <em>truth</em> meant we are not allowed to lie to each other and the word <em>integrity</em> meant we ought to be honest with each other however, we discovered most of us decided to lie and be dishonest in spite of this.</p>
<p>This is purely because we were conditioned regarding to what we <em>should</em> and <em>should not</em> do. The great majority of us did not understand why this was important for each other as there was no profound explanation offered or given. In essence the way in which we learned truth and integrity was really negate and is naturally arguable that we were simply expected to understand the wisdom hidden intuitively.</p>
<p>To some measure perhaps we did. We knew that it begins on the inside and we were trying to resolve this when we decided to first tell a lie and be dishonest. We came to understand the incongruity however we also began to create barriers of mistrust between each other during the process. Inplace of hearing, “<em>Tell me how you honestly feel?</em>” we were hearing, “<em>Don&#8217;t you lie to me.</em>”</p>
<p>Having truth and integrity is being able to be honestly truthful with ourself in all that we do. Reflect deeply for a moment and consider if we were having a troubling situation at present how may the situation be different if we decided we were going to be true to ourself?</p>
<p>We may gain a whole new perspective and find necessary clarity which was simply not apparent before. We may discover there may be things we need to let go of and release so that the situation can begin to heal. We can look forward to wonderful options and occurances when we decide to be truthfuly honest with ourself and others.</p>
<p>When we have troubling situations in our life, be this; our job/career, relationships or health, by simply willing to open our hearts and speak our truths is all that is necessary in making positive and loving changes. We can begin to understand what having our own truth and integrity truly means in our life.</p>

<p>The great majority love in others only what they lend them, their version of themselves. Feeling happiness is when we think, what we say, and what we do are all in harmony. Allowing the opportunity to feel free to be in ways that are in harmony with our personal values. To be loved and accepted for what we are is the greatest exception and the personal life deeply lived always expands into truths beyond itself.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>For most of us it can also be quite a costly time as well and sometimes we simply cannot afford it or we are too busy to plan it so we don&#8217;t take the necessary retreat. For some of us we do not like to be alone and we don&#8217;t retreat at all, in fact the very word is worrying. The idea of being alone for a weekend or longer can seem so lonely and even mundane that we would prefer not too.</p>
<p>To retreat, relax or rest is a natural cycle in every living thing. Our lifestyles can push us too hard and at times it may be quite therapeutic to make the time to truly rest. It&#8217;s important to nourish ourselves with spiritual and emotional reflection. A time of retreat is a time for us to contemplate and reflect on our heart&#8217;s true feelings and desires.</p>
<p>During our retreat we can clear our mind from all the hustle and noise and spend some time with our true feelings. We can take a bird&#8217;s eye view of those worrying situations and calmly let go a while. Feel free and at peace with ourselves and see what comes!</p>
<p>Some places are nothing more than a state of mind and require no planning ahead and cost very little if nothing at all. In fact you don&#8217;t need to go anywhere. A retreat can be &#8216;your&#8217; special time. You can make what you will of it and save the holidaying and weekends away to share with your family and friends.</p>
<p>We can take a retreat when we decide to soak in the bath. Decide to add a little something special to the water, perhaps a gentle lavender oil, to add a soothing scent and soften the body&#8217;s skin. Play deep relaxation music and set the mood to a peaceful atmosphere. Turn out the lights and light a few candles instead, place them sparingly around the room. Soak in the water and allow your mind to relax and drift far away!</p>
<p>You may like to visit a beautiful island somewhere and lay in the warm sun or decide to take a gentle swim by a waterfall in a quiet rain forest&#8230; venture out to where ever your heart desires and do whatever you feel like doing when you are there. Deeply indulge in the atmosphere and absorb the scenery of your retreat.</p>
<p>Making the time to relax and retreat can bring a healthier balance to your busy lifestyle. The great majority of us work hard, long hours in our careers/jobs, home life and relationships giving ourselves very little time at all, if any to rest. By making that &#8217;special time&#8217; to retreat even as simply as taking a long bath, allowing ourselves to drift away and wonder through all the wonders of ourselves relaxes our minds and we may find we feel more peaceful during our busy everyday lifestyles.</p>
<p>There are many ways we can prepare our time and space to retreat at home. We can take long baths, massages, meditate or read, even writing can be relaxing. The aim is to take our minds away from our hectic day, to look forward to our retreat and explore ourselves.</p>

<p>Your special time is where you can find yourself again and again. We love to know that we are not alone and our retreat can show us that we don&#8217;t necessarily need to be. In our solitude is the richness of ourselves. The most powerful way to connect to ourself is to listen and perhaps the most important thing we ever give ourselves is our own undivided attention&#8230; a loving silence often has far more power to heal and to connect us to what we may not notice within.</p>
