What is Spiritual Growth?

back

Author: Biljana

Everything begins with ourselves. To my understanding there are three parts that make up the whole. The mind, the body and the spirit. We have adequate education about the mind and the body and we are still in the process of acknowledging the phenomenon of the spirit.

Spiritual growth and development is the process of integrating and fine tuning the three parts of ourselves. Beginning with our conscious awareness, often referred to as an awakening or enlightenment which is the process of lifting the veil of illusion we have been living with and brings the deeper meaning of life. Being consciously aware is ultimately being responsible for all our thoughts and actions. Without the awareness the life is mainly motivated towards material gain.

How rapidly the individual proceeds through their own process is purely according to the degree and level of evolution the spirit has acquired in the past and past lives. The challenges relate to the degree of fear which have been adopted and learned in the past. This can be difficult as it breaks down into small pieces making up one big puzzle.

Fear is and can be anything which is non-progressive. For instance; living with feelings of hesitation, insecurity, desires to control, frustrations, unhappiness, being judgmental or critical and the list goes on. The purpose of these non-progressive fears is to help us grow and this is usually achieved by simply unlearning what we have learned and re-defining ourselves.

Most of us have lessons to learn pertaining to trust, choice and compassion and with each one of those breaking down into smaller parts depending on the individual. Being spiritual is consciously aiming towards simultaneously improving our wisdom, willpower and our communication with the universe.

The gentle removal of our fears and illusions at the sensory feeling and thinking relates to our inner-growth. Manifesting improvements and creating necessary positive and loving change in our lives is the result of the inward change.

The moment when we first wake up is the most wonderful time, no matter how weary we may feel. We discover the certainty that during the day absolutely anything may happen and though in the beginning it seems as though it practically doesn't matters very little. The value is in... the possibility is always there.

We seem to see only what we are prepared to comprehend and we don't often see things as they are... we see them as we are. Embracing your true self is having, first of all, the chance to recognise and prepare the available choices, to define them and then the opportunity to choose again. Not looking back in anger or forward in fear but around in awareness.
