Author: Biljana
Meditation is a state of the higher consciousness. It is said, when we are listening to music, spending time alone with our thoughts, or writing in a journal that we are in a meditation. We are in connection with our higher self. Whether we use meditation for inner peace and calmness or simply relaxation, we will gain personal inner alertness.
Preparation for Meditation
It is important to be in a fresh state of alertness and not when you may feel tired so, it is ideal to meditate in the hours of the morning where the energy is new and you are rejuvenated after a restful sleep.
Think of meditation as your own special time for yourself. Find at least 10 minutes alone to meditate and consider regularity as well so, choose the most appropriate time where you will not be disturbed while you meditate.
Find a space, either inside of your home or a peaceful place outside where you will meditate, and use this only for your meditation. Put anything you will use there and devote it to your special time. It should feel pure and sacred.
When meditating you need to feel comfortable so, wear clean and light clothing and no shoes. It is useful to take a shower or a proper bath before meditating. It is not always necessary however, the purification of the body is necessary for the purification of the mind.
Try to meditate before having breakfast or at least two hours after having breakfast because your body will feel heavy and you may not be able to meditate very well.
