Metaphysical Healing

back

Author: Scott

Metaphysics is part science and part philosophy. If you can imagine a parallel dimension to ours that is affected by us and we are affected by it, you can begin to understand the concept of metaphysics.

In metaphysical healing we examine how our dimension and the parallel one can interact and the role we may play.

We all have an understanding of the physical, we know all about the causes and effects that we can have on our physical environment. For example dropping a glass will cause it to break. Now we are much more than our physical body, we all have minds and emotions too. So how does our mind and emotional state have an effect on the physical?

One theory is that each thought we have becomes its own entity when it is released. This thought then goes out and creates the experience that it was intended for. If something goes wrong in the start of the day and we tell ourselves that we're having a bad day, then we are creating thoughts that are making this reality true for us. Alternatively if something goes wrong at the start of the day and we tell ourselves that it was a small hickup then we minimise the effect that this event and the corresponding thoughts create for us.

With this reasoning its no wonder that people who choose positive thinking rarely look back. In terms of healing we now have a choice. If we can think positively about our experience with sickness and think about a fast healthy recovery we are more likely to create one.

One form of evidence for the metaphysical explanation is the placebo effect. In all pharmaceutical tests a drug must be compared to a placebo (usually inert substance). The reason is because placebos are actually very effective cures. Up to 25% of people who take a placebo will in fact be cured. Notice the metaphysical effect, they believe they will be cured, and hence they are. The belief itself is what cures them.

So the question arises, if your thoughts were food, how much would you eat? If our thoughts can affect our reality and intrinsically we all know they do... then how can we change our thought patterns to create a more positive experience for us?

The simple answer is ..... it's a choice. We choose which thoughts we like to have and which we'd like to leave behind. Our brains are highly adaptive organs and are the most flexible parts of our body. Simple neurology tells us that the more we think a certain way the more the brain will support this by building pathways for this thought. When we choose to think a different way we are challenging ourselves to choose the less used path. Over time this pathway becomes stronger and the older one degrades to reinforce the new way of thinking.

You will learn that your mind is the most powerful influence over your body. You have the power for your overall well being.
